New feature: Randomization

Dear Speedanki users,

I have implemented the long awaited randomization feature for the site. You can switch to a randomized view using the “view by” combobox; selecting the randomized kanji or randomized hiragana option. I have implemented this feature using random permutations, so the cards remain in the same order and you won’t miss any of them. The cards can be re-shuffled by pressing the Shuffle! button or navigating to a different folder.

i think this is going to become a great site for all the people that studies nihongo, is really simple and quick to browse keep up the good work

    Yo,

    that was quick man! ご苦労さん!

I see a lot of people want to write kanji by hand… so why don’t you buy a DS and get the kanji game, or buy a book and write it out on a pad.

    I like the randomizer — it’s great.

There’s another new behavior that looks like it might be related: now when I view by list, when I try to click through to a kanji/hiragana (to, like, check the meaning or start my deck there) it instead brings up the list again. If this is related to the new changes, then I’d classify it as a bug; if it’s a separate feature, it’s a bad one.

when I use a different computer, the browser says there’s an error when I hit the Shuffle button.

Congratulations on the new feature. I like the implementation, clever!

For those of you learning for JLPT1, I’ve just added a note sharing feature to http://kanjikuma.com

Please check it out and let me know what you all think.

    Dear Team!

Yo I’m loving the randomness, but could you give us another folder ‘random’ so maybe we could put say 50 cards in there and just bash away at them until they are learned.

    What do ya think?

Also I took the JLPT level 2 this year and failed by 6%… I think. But I got a horrendous score for the third part, I got 80/200 which caused me to fail.

Does anone know any other good sites that can help with the third section?

    Thanks yo,

    Jamie.

    Randomisation! Fantastic!

I’ve been a fan of this website for over a year now, and always felt that was the one downfall- the fact that my brain start to remember kanji by the order they were coming rather than the kanji themselves.

    Thanks!

    Hey guys!

I wanted to help out by pointing out a mistake I found. It is regarding the word 探求 in 二級。 In it’s example sentence, you have 探究 written instead of 探求. Nothing major, but I thought it best to point it out.

    Keep up the good work!

    Daniel

Great job! It makes the similar web JLPT vocab app I was working on pointless… heh heh. This is a very useful site and this feature will make it that much more useful. Keep up the good work!

This is the best site to learn words simply because you put them in sentences. I think your system would make a great app for the Iphone. Is that in the works soon?

Is it just me or are most of the level one words (from about 500 cards in) without example sentences?
